Chad Cathey was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Lakeview Regional Medical Centera campus of Tulane Medical Center.

Cathey has executive responsibility for the operations of the 167-bed acute care hospital and will be part of the team responsible for the hospital’s strategic planning.

Cathey most recently served as Senior Director of Hospital Operations for Our Lady of The Lake Children’s Hospital, a facility of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady’s Health System in Baton Rouge. Cathey has over 10 years of operational experience. He served as an administrative assistant at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and was a project manager for the Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in management from LSU, a master’s degree in business administration from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.

Thomas Alemann was hired by OnPath Federal Credit Union as senior vice president of growth.

Aleman comes from Corporate One FCU, a $6 billion corporate credit union, where he was associate vice president of corporate accounts.

Prior to joining Corporate One, Aleman was Regional Director of JMFA, a noninterest income and noninterest expenses consultancy. He was also previously a licensed relationship banker at JPMorgan Chase Bank in New Orleans and a teller at Whitney National Bank.

Annie Matherne joined Gambel Communication as Senior Communications Strategist.

Matherne will develop and manage communications strategies and solutions for a variety of clients including Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana, Hilton New Orleans Riverside and Sankofa.

She is the former director of public relations for the Audubon Nature Institute.

She graduated from Spring Hill College with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Business Administration. During her studies, Matherne worked as an intern at Gambel.

Jeffrey FernandezOchsner Health’s Senior Vice President and Executive Advisor has assumed the role of CEO of the new company Ochsner health plan.

Fernandez replaces Terry Shilling, who has led the implementation of the health plan in an advisory capacity.

Prior to joining Ochsner in August 2021, Fernandez was senior vice president of Humana’s Medicare West segment, responsible for operating Medicare Advantage across 17 states, including Louisiana. His career at Humana spanned 16 years.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from LSU, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans, and a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

Baton Rouge

Jennifer Clowers was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Our Lady of the Lake Health.

Clowers has been with the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady health system for 16 years, most recently as the system’s vice president for outpatient services. She has served in a variety of roles at Our Lady of Lourdes Health, initially as Vice President of Finance/Controller before rising to CFO and eventually Interim Market President.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration from Louisiana Tech University.

MelCollins was elected President NPC services.

Collins has been NPC’s Facilities Manager since 2004, overseeing day-to-day operations and administration, operations staff and contracted services coordination.

Collins succeeds Bill Dawson, who retired after 36 years.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from LSU.

dr Victoria Bourgeois and dr Nathan Sugarman have joined General Physicians at Baton Rougelocated on the hospital’s Bluebonnet campus.

Bourgeois will treat patients at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic, and Sugarman will care for patients at Baton Rouge Family Medical Center.

Bourgeois received her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the LSU Health Sciences Center at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Sugarman earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California and a medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He completed his residency residency at Baton Rouge General, where he served as Chief Resident.

dr Prathipa Santhanam has joined the group of providers at Child Health of Our Lady of the Lake.

Santhanam is a pediatric gastroenterologist who treats patients with a variety of conditions including abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, eosinophilic esophagitis, and inflammatory bowel disease.

She earned bachelor’s degrees in biology, physics and chemistry from Anglo-Chinese Junior College and a PhD from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. She then completed her pediatric residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center and her ACGME fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at the University of North Carolina.
