FTI Consulting: Inclusion of Latin America expert Carl Meacham in the Strategic Communications segment | Panda Anku

Washington, DC, August 15, 2022 – FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the appointment of Carl Meacham as Managing Director, Strategic Communications segment to assist clients with cross-border issues related to national security and trade and Trade diplomacy with a focus on Latin America.

Mr. Meacham is based in Washington, DC and has more than 25 years of experience as a consultant, analyst and advocate on a wide range of government affairs and advocacy issues. He has held senior positions focused on Latin American issues in the private sector, including at a US-based pharmaceutical trade association, a global technology company and an American think tank, and in government, including in both the Clinton administration and Capitol Hill .

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Meacham led PhRMA’s trade diplomacy and advocacy for Latin America, Canada and Europe. Previously, he led Uber Technologies’ government relations in the “Southern Cone” of South America (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay), helping the company advance its business goals by influencing the regulatory environment. Earlier in his career, Mr. Meacham was Director of the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic & International Studies. A registered independent, he has served bipartisanly on both the Republican and Democratic Senate staffs, including more than a decade as the Republican Senate’s senior staff position for the Latin America region on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and on staff positions for Senatorial Majority Leaders Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid. Mr. Meacham also served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the US Department of Commerce during the Clinton administration. He began his career as a Foreign Service Officer at the US Department of State and at the US Embassy in Madrid.

The launch is part of a strategic expansion of FTI Consulting’s Latin America practice and an ongoing focus on supporting highly regulated industry sectors with critical issues across the Americas.
